✨ The Aftermarket ✨

This summer will be full of fun .markets in Downtown Oshawa. Come out for food, music, and market vibes brought to you by local artists. I’m so excited to take part in this new addition to my city. I’ll be taking part in 5 dates, including opening weekend (THIS WEEKEND!), and my plan is to bring a different stock of fun kits and DIY projects every time so that there’s always something new. Hope to see you there!

✨ Workshop! May 22nd! ✨

This month's workshop is .black.heart.co on May 22 from 7-9pm!

This workshop includes everything :

2 hours of in person help with a maximum of 10 people (so everyone gets the help they need!)

Unlimited online help afterwards

Complete a necklace in class , supplies included.

Take home everything you need to make a necklace in the comfort of your cozy place!

You will leave having the supplies and knowledge to continue your hand embroidery adventure however you want!

✨ Mira Ramen - ✨

I knew immediately I wanted to do one of the ramen cups for this collab, and since I love spicy, Mira's was a given!

I had some fumbles with this one but I love how it turned out! The perfect combo of hand embroidery mixed with painting techniques. The only thing I wish is I'd gone more into the top, but I didn't think I'd have time and sacrifices were made.

This is by far my favourite type of embroidery to do, and you probably wouldn't guess that by my page 😆. Black, intricate line work. Various stitches but all in monochrome. Textured fabric. This piece was so meditative, which fell right in line with my Siren choice. I love Greek myths, but I immediately thought of sirens when this prompt came up. I did a lot of thought on how I wanted to go about it, but chose to stick with the classic image of the sirens leading a ship to shore.

I do need some forgiveness on the posting style. Yes, I took these pictures quickly, on my couch, taking advantage of the first beam of sun I've seen in months. But my whole family has been incredibly sick for weeks and my child has surgery tomorrow, so I'll do a better Photoshoot eventually. She's a beauty.

✨ Past Wips ✨

This time last year I made this cutie and I don't think I ever posted it. At the time it was a gift for someone! I'm actually even more proud of it now because realism really isn't my strong suit when it comes to embroidery. This was also the year I was doing the endangered animal prompts monthly which did SO much for my skills.

I might need to do something next year for myself like that. Pressure creates diamonds 🫣😘

✨ Gwi-ma ✨

My villain is inspired by my lovely little monster. She's obsessed with Kpop demon hunters, and I'm not going to lie, I love it. The soundtrack is amazing. I feel like this is my in to get her more into Kpop 😆.

I wanted to go small with this one, I have a lot going on, but my original painting plan didn't quite work. My watercolours didn't have the boom to make gwi ma work, and I ended up using markers. But my Saka 9boys are looking real good so let's give it a little break 😆 .
