Some fabrics speak for themselves
And this one sings. 🎶
Look closely at the navy fabric and you’ll find the classic song lyrics to What a Wonderful World. With a fabric like that, the name practically wrote itself.

The navy lyric print is paired with a soft cream floral, and little pops of golden yellow. This bag also has a full navy full leather bottom - because project bags have a habit of ending up on the floor, under tables, and everywhere else our knitting takes us!
Like all our other project bag, there’s always a coordinating liner inside with divided pockets for keeping all the necessities within reach.

When you’re choosing a project bag, what gets you first? Is it the colors, the print of the fabric, or those little unexpected details like discovering song lyrics hidden in the fabric?

For years, I’ve been choosing the fabrics, putting together the colour combinations, and then handing my little pile over to my mom to work her magic at her sewing machine. It’s one of my favourite parts about these bags, knowing that each one is a little collaboration between the two of us.

I love the moody rose print and how it looks paired with the deep plum side panels, navy faux leather, and the bright pink zipper. And did you catch the special surprise liner?

I called it the You Are Rose-ilient project bag.
Because if knitting and crochet have taught us anything, it’s resilience. We frog. We miss count. We lose at yarn chicken. We find a mistake. 14 rows back and seriously consider whether we can just live with it forever…only to realize we can’t and eventually undo it all.

And then we keep going.

🤫I’m going to let you in on a little secret. When small businesses say “we” they likely mean “I”. 😝 Behind the curated posts and attempts at quality photos, there’s just me dyeing the yarn, picking the names, printing the labels, and wrapping them around the skeins. It truly is a labour of love. Luckily I’ve got a very supportive family and amazing community behind me to make this all worth it. And it is. So thank you for being here. 🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙

🍉 You’re One in a Melon is officially in the shop!
A few years ago, I dyed a watermelon-inspired sock set for one of my sock clubs. I had so many people asking if they could get their hands on one who weren’t part of the club, and I had to keep saying no!
So I decided it was finally time to revisit it.
You’re One in a Melon is a revamped take on that original idea. It’s not the same colourway, but a new version inspired by it, with juicy watermelon pinks and reds paired with a variegated green mini for the rind. 🍉
And of course I had to knit a pair myself! I used the green for the cuff, heel and toe, and I love how they turned out.
Best of all, this time you don’t have to be in the sock club to get one. 😉

Hand-dyed yarn is pretty punk. 👊🏻

Hear me out.

Not because it’s particularly edgy, but because it rejects the idea that everything has to be mass-produced, identical, and instantly available.

Every skein of hand-dyed yarn is the product of someone’s creativity. Then it passes into the hands of another maker, who transforms it into something that has never existed before. Like these scrappy socks I’m making for my youngest.

When you create something with hand dyed yarn, you’re making choices every step of the way. The project. The pattern. The fit. The modifications. The colours. The details.

Mass production makes everyone wear the same sweater. Handmade makes sure no one ever does. You can quote me on that. 😝

But seriously, in a world of fast fashion, disposable clothing, and instant gratification, choosing to make something with your own hands is a different way of thinking and kind of anti establishment.

It’s slower. It’s more intentional. It requires patience, skill, and a willingness to create something uniquely yours instead of accepting what’s presented to you as normal or trendy.

For generations, fibre skills weren’t hobbies. They were simply things people needed to know how to do.

Somewhere along the way, making things became optional and buying became the default.

Maybe that’s why these skills feel so important now and dare I say, a little rebellious.

Supergrass💚
Fresh, light, and layered in green. Supergrass is beaming with organic life, you can almost smell the freshly cut grass. These zebra merino fi*****ng skeins are perfect for socks, shawls, or a cute summer tank. What would you make with them?!

Years ago, I went to a friend’s flamenco recital.
I remember being captivated by the movement, the drama, and the confidence of the dancers. It felt like a story unfolding without words, a secret language I couldn’t understand, but somehow still felt.
When I finished dyeing this colour way, one thought immediately came to mind:
“This girl is on fire.”
Those glowing reds, molten golds, and the streak of bold black brought me right back to that performance.
So instead of Girl on Fire, I gave it a name that felt like its own little secret...
Flame-enco. 🔥
I’m curious... what’s the first thing this colourway makes you think of?
