My love affair with mosaics began fifteen years ago, after formal training in clay sculpture, mould-making and bronze casting at OCAD in Toronto. The exploration in mosaics began around 15 years ago when I was assisting a friend with retiling her bathroom floor, and the rest is a delightful blur of textured tiles. Although I spent my formative years in Toronto, right now I am based in Ottawa where I divide my time between community work and teaching.

These last few weeks were just fabulous for us!

ChipChip Mosaics had the pleasure of celebrating an extra special birthday with some kids in her home. These youngsters found their inner artists and crafted some very cool mosaic birds, fish, and cats!

The home studio classes were buzzing as well, with fresh mosaic tray designs.

And we had a wonderful workshop at Makerhouse in Westboro, where everyone left with very unique mosaic coasters and mini hangings.

Big thanks to Makerhouse for hosting me- and looking forward to the next one in two weeks!

WORKSHOP SALE now on!

Come and dabble in something new to kick-start your weekend. Make yourself some coasters or a mosaic hanging of your choice at the ChipChip Mosaics home studio in the south end of town.

Regularly priced at $65 per person, right now it's going for $55, and still includes a tea or pop of your choice.

This Saturday, August 8th, from 11am- 1:30pm.

Mosaic Mixer time at Habesha Restaurant!!
Here's a peak at the fabulous time everybody had crafting mosaic coasters and trinket trays at our recent art nite. We were all having such a wonderful time that folks having dinner couldn't help but look on as the creations came together.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support ChipChip Mosaics, and a GIANT thank you to Habesha Restaurant for hosting the workshop.

Well, one-on-one mosaic classes might just be what you need.

Congrats to Edelweiss for her beautiful mosaic garden pavers that she crafted using all kinds of tiles! See the movement through finding inspiration and sketching the design, cutting and gluing tiles to mesh, cementing it to the paver, and finally the smoothing and polishing. Just five more to go!
