Another huge element of our home is our outdoor space✨ And one part of our outdoor space is our driveway. If you have an asphalt driveway and it is in need of a makeover then this post is for you!
A-1 SEAL COAT is making driveways look new again. And doing an awesome job at it. Their mixture is not your average paint on black top. ✨DIY✨ Have you ever ordered something online and it arrives a totally different colour than what it showed online? This has been happening to me a lot lately! And with everything going on not going out to stores as freely as we would want to I have just had to get creative✨ The cross on this pillow showed pink online that would match the existing pillows on my other outdoor furniture but when it arrived it was bright red! So I had to get creative with what I had cause I love the actual pillow, the red just wasn’t what I wanted... Thank goodness I like to hoard paint samples from Benjamin Moore lol. I literally just used wall paint and changed it up✨ And I can report that they have held up in the rain totally fine. Doesn’t it look awesome on this chair I got at Habitat for Humanity Restore♥️ Another DIY for the win✨ Check out the before and after.

✨Feature✨ To say I’m excited to finally get to see my brothers new house soon would be an understatement. I am beyond excited and proud of how beautifully it is coming together✨The amount of thought and work that has gone into this complete home renovation is more than impressive. The whole family has played a role in working on this house together including their young children. It’s a true work of art. ✨DIY✨ As you all know I think having plants in your home is a must and finding different ways to display them can be fun🌱Check out this plant stand I made out of an old wire tomato plant stand! It is so cute and easy to make ✨ All that is required to transform it is some gold paint and wire cutters. Give it a whirl ✨

✨ Here is another great example of a painted kitchen makeover done a couple years ago by Aya Kitchens Red Deer ✨
✨In this kitchen we had the walls & cabinets painted and the tile & countertops changed out. We kept the pantry door in the oak to help tie in the rest of the oak throughout the house and it looks amazing! We also kept the appliances as they were still in great shape and can be replaced at a later date to stainless if wanted ✨
✨This is a prime example of redesign as we used what was existing and only changing what we needed to to complete a new look without breaking the bank.✨

✨Eeeeek✨ I finally did it! I cut my Fiddle Leaf Fig plant in an attempt to propagate it 🌱 Anyone who owns one knows that this is such a scary thing to do! My plants are like my babies ♥️ And they count on me to keep them alive. lol. So I hope I did it correctly! Fingers crossed and stay tuned✨

House plants are a must have element in any home for me whether staging a house for sale or for everyday living ✨ They literally bring life to any space instantly! If you are wanting to bring plants into your home but aren’t sure what plants might work for you go check out on Instagram as she is full of great information and pictures. And I have also found mounds of information including propagating this Fiddle Leaf Fig from the videos of on Instagram as well. Check them out✨
Once you get one plant you won’t be able to stop🌱

✨Sprucing up your space✨ I believe that sprucing up your house with little makeovers here and there does not have to break the bank! Don’t get me wrong, I love a good renovation with top of the line materials, but I know that it is not always an option for everyone all the time... I am a true believer of making your house your home with what you have or what you can afford to add at the time. It’s something I’m actually extremely passionate about as I truly believe that your home should be a place that reflects who you are and brings you a sense of safety and comfort when you walk through those doors✨
With my kitchen I knew from the beginning that I would want to make changes throughout the years of living here. That’s just who I am. So I went with practical materials that I knew I would be ok with changing or parting with down the road but that I loved at that moment and were timeless if I did not end up changing them. Would I have loved beautiful hardwood floors? Yes! But I also wanted to be ok with my son riding up to the table to eat his dinner with his rollerblades on and not freak out. And he did it all the time! lol I’ll get my hardwood when the time is right✨

Things I have changed in our kitchen over the years....
•Painted walls ~Too many times and colours to recall. It is now White Heron by Benjamin Moore and I love it.
•Painting the cabinets ~uppers Distant Grey with Benjamin Moore cabinet paint ~lowers Hale Navy with chalk paint and waxed.
•Changed the backsplash ~first to slate tiles ~ then painted with tile paint
•Changed cabinet pulls ~first to oiled rubbed bronze ~then to gold
•New appliances from white to stainless steel when it was time for new ones.
•Changed out pendant shades with shades from Michaels for only $12 each.
•New light over sink from Canadian Tire sale.
•New faucet a few years ago ~new one to come soon
•New covers on bar stools for $14 each from IKEA.
Those are just some of the little changes I have made over the 13 years of living here without breaking the bank but truly making it ours. We LOVE it♥️ What little changes would you like to make in your place but aren’t sure how to go about it without spending too much money?
