Design a wreath to enjoy long after autumn has passed. 🍂

This Saturday, October 17, join us in the Fleuris studio for a creative afternoon with dried botanicals grown in our orchard garden.

We'll explore natural movement, texture and composition as you learn to design your own everlasting wreath.

Whether you're drawn to something delicate and understated or a larger, more sculptural piece, you'll have the freedom to create something uniquely yours, inspired by nature and designed for your own space.

Bring home a beautiful piece of the garden to enjoy for seasons to come.

Three one-of-a-kind sculptural vessels by Malene Foyd, available at the Orchard Boutique this week alongside a selection of her pottery.

Each of these pieces has its own form, scale and character, with the beautiful irregularities and marks of the making process that make Malene’s work so special.

One is softly rounded and generous, another wonderfully irregular and almost architectural, while the third has a broad, dark form balanced on a tall foot.

I filled the largest cream vessel last week with Japanese anemones and a few dahlias from the garden. I love how its proportions allow long stems to move so freely, but all three are beautiful enough to live as sculptural objects on their own.

There is just one of each.

A beautiful way to count down to the holidays.

It may feel a little early to be thinking about December, but not too early to tuck away something special for when it arrives.

Among Makiko of HIBI WORKS’ beautiful handmade pieces are these fabric Advent calendars, and we’re very happy to have just a few at the Orchard Boutique this week. Twenty-four numbered pockets are waiting to be filled with whatever you would like to make part of your own holiday tradition: little treats, handwritten notes, tiny treasures, activities or surprises.

What I especially love is that this isn't an Advent calendar for just one December. It is beautifully made to come out again year after year, with the possibility of filling it differently each time as your traditions evolve.

Handmade by HIBI WORKS · $125 + tax

We have just four available at the Orchard Boutique this week, our final week of the regular season.

A beautifully moody autumn elopement for Val & Zac.

Every stem grown in the Fleuris orchard garden. End-of-September burgundy dahlias, rich foliage and touches of lavender and violet came together for this intimate forest elopement, designed entirely with what was growing in the garden at the time.

I loved seeing how the petite bouquet played against the black gown and veil, deep green suit and colours of the surrounding forest. A beautiful example of how a couple’s individual vision can be expressed entirely through locally grown, seasonal flowers.

Debra Prinzing is coming to Victoria this weekend!

As we celebrate Canadian Flowers Week, we're delighted to welcome Debra Prinzing, founder of the Slow Flowers movement and co-author of The Flower Farmers, to Victoria for two special events dedicated to locally grown flowers and the people who grow, design with and love them.

This Saturday, August 22, Debra will join us here at Fleuris for an intimate afternoon around the table in the orchard garden.

We'll talk about local flowers, seasonality, flower farming, what Slow Flowers and sustainable floristry really mean, and how we can make more thoughtful choices about the flowers we bring into our lives.

Whether you're a gardener, florist, flower grower or simply someone who loves flowers and wants to know more about where they come from, you're very welcome.

We'll enjoy an abundant spread of seasonal treats along the way, and with such a small group, there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions, exchange ideas and spend time in conversation with Debra.

A few places are still available.

3 to 5 PM

And on Sunday, August 23 from 10 to 11 AM, Debra will be at for a public signing of The Flower Farmers in the Bonsai Garden Pavilion. No registration is required for the signing; regular garden admission applies.
These are Debra's only two public appearances in Victoria during this visit, and we're so pleased to welcome her to Vancouver Island for Canadian Flowers Week.

🌿 We're Hiring

Over the years, Fleuris has grown from a small flower-growing project into a specialty cut flower farm, floral design studio, orchard boutique, and wholesale flower business. At the same time, Dwight's garden maintenance business has continued to grow and evolve.

As both businesses have expanded, we've reached a point where we're looking for someone special to join us.

We're hiring a Flower Farmer & Gardener to help care for the flower farm, orchard, and gardens that are at the heart of our work.

This is a hands-on, year-round position for someone who genuinely enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in doing things well, and finds satisfaction in caring for plants and beautiful spaces.

We're not looking to fill a position quickly. We're looking for the right person.

If this sounds like you, or someone you know, we'd love to hear from you.

🌿 Full-time, year-round position
🌿 Starting compensation: $26–$30/hour

Preserve a little piece of summer. 🌿

Join us in the orchard garden and studio for an intimate afternoon exploring the art of pressing flowers and botanicals.

Together, we'll gather inspiration from the garden, learn how to preserve seasonal blooms, and create a collection of pressed botanicals that can be enjoyed long after the flowers themselves have faded.

This atelier is an invitation to slow down, observe, and connect more deeply with the beauty of the season.

Perfect for gardeners, flower lovers, creatives, and anyone who finds joy in working with their hands.

Your atelier includes:
• A flower press to take home
• Seasonal flowers and botanicals
• All materials and guidance
• Tea and seasonal treats
• A peaceful afternoon surrounded by flowers

Limited to just 6 participants.

There is so much to discover within a single bloom.

Layers of petals, almost translucent, holding light in soft shades of butter and apricot. A dark centre grounding everything and quietly drawing the eye inward.

Butterfly ranunculus Vestalis reveals itself through details. The subtle shifts in colour and maturity. The way each petal rests against the next. The fragility and movement carried on such delicate stems.

There is also a moment, after spending months caring for the flowers, just before cutting them to design with, when I simply want to touch them. To feel their lightness, their movement, the way they hold themselves on the stem. Almost to say hello before bringing them into another space to be observed and appreciated in a different way.

Here, just a few stems placed against a painting by Hermann Valentin Schmitt that seemed to naturally echo their colours, movement, and softness.
