When you finally found the best tasting twaróg straight from Poland, you put it on everything. Thank goodness you can bring 20kg of cheese back from vacation. 😜

Summer pierogi hack - Place a good amount of pierogi on a lightly oiled grill. Grill over medium heat for 4 to 5 minutes per side. Aim for a bit of char = next level.

How do you say no to friends who are family? 💖😊

What a wonderful day in Hudson celebrating Le Pont / Bridging's 30th anniversary 😎. It was a day filled with great music 🎶, fun activities, yummy food 🍕🍩🍨and 🥟. It was a day filled with meeting new friends and thanking the community for supporting the Hudson food bank. Humongous thanks to SusanN for suggesting my participation in the event.

🥟🥟300 pierogi were served and enjoyed throughout the afternoon🥟🥟

You may have noticed that I’ve been suspiciously quiet lately… no, I haven’t disappeared into the witness protection program. 😅

The posting silence has been very deliberate.

After being constantly on the go for over a year straight, hubby has been making sure that I've taken some time for myself to slow down and rest for a few weeks. Apparently, humans require things like sleep, proper nutrition aside from Gatorade, and resting my brain from all the ideas and plans that have been floating around, and taking a break from social media. Who knew?

At the same time, I’ve been deep in preparation mode for next Saturday’s Le Pont / Bridging event in Hudson — which currently involves making sure 🥟🥟🥟 500 pierogi 🥟🥟🥟 and an entire serving station are ready to go without disappointing anyone. If you're near the Hudson Community Centre, stop by and say 'Hi'.

At the same time, I'm getting ready to travel overseas ✈️ to spend time with my dearest friend, who I haven't seen in a couple of years. That kind of time together matters more than any algorithm ever will. In our case a social media ban is a good idea - no evidence. 👀 🍸 💃🏻🥙😱

So yes — I’m still here and my commitment hasn't wavered. Life has simply borrowed the time I’d normally spend posting on social media. I'll be back with regular postings in a few weeks. I hope your patience keeps you around until then - there's a good chance there will be some exciting news.

In the meantime, thank you for your continued support that's never taken for granted, and there's always 🥟🥟inventory 🥟🥟when the craving strikes. www.basiaspierogi.ca

As we celebrate Mother’s Day, my thoughts are with those whose mothers are no longer with us.

For those who have walked through life with the memory of a voice, a hug, a look, or a meal.

For those who learned through mistakes because guidance was lost.

For those who walked across a graduation stage wishing to share the achievements.

For those who went wedding dress shopping alone and walked down the aisle aching to see your smiling face, instead seeing an empty seat.

For those who wanted to share the happiness of family and home.

For those who walk through all of life’s celebrations and sorrows and who wish Mom was beside them but could only share through their heart, this short thought is for you.

She walks besides you and celebrates with you. She holds you up on days where it all feels hopeless. She continues to live in our memories, in the strength of our hands, in the compassion of our eyes, and in the depth of our hearts. Mom continues to live in you. 💐❤️

There are milestones in every small business and this is one of them. We've got a SIGN...😆😆

"Why do we need a sign," you may ask. That's a great question. We need a sign because we'll be participation in the Le Pont / Bridging's "30 Years of Neighbours Helping Neighbours" event being held in May. We'll be serving our cocktail-sized pierogi. We're really proud to have been asked to be part of this event and we're well on our way to getting all 500 pierogi ready for their big day.
