The 2026 World Happiness Report is out, and it points to something deeper than rankings. When votes actually translate into seats, governments have to earn support across the whole country, not just a handful of swing ridings. That changes priorities, incentives, and outcomes.
Canada still uses first-past-the-post, where millions of votes do not count toward representation. Proportional representation would align seats with votes and make every voice matter.
It is time to make every vote count here too.
