Being from a construction background I have seen a lot of waste over the last 20+ years. From day one I always thought there must be a better way then to just throw the stuff out. My grandparents were brought up and made to use every available items that they ever came across. They had nothing when they settled in Canada. I grew up seeing how they used every bit of metal, wood and tool they could
find. Very little went to waste and most things were never thrown out. Plastic was no used for much as it was not part of the production yet. Paper, metals, material.. everything was fixed if it was ever broken or worn out. So with those memories I see that this has been lost over the last 4 decades. If we move back to the way things used to be we would be better off and happier.. I read once a saying that goes like " without economy we would all be better off" to mean this means that we live and use what we have. We don't have to get the latest of anything. Hand crafted items last longer, reflect the real price of goods and support the people in your community. You will pay less tax, be happier and build relationships with the people around you. There will be less crime in some ways.. There is a good you tube video that explains it in a simple way.. it's called "The Story of Stuff" take the time to watch it it's short enough not to take up much of your time..
