New project in the works to add to my in-house pet portraits. This is a flattened image that scales nicely and would be ideal for drink coasters. Not the final product - still a rough draft.

This is Gigli (pronounced 'Gee-Lee') named after Gigli Beniamino - Italian Opera singer from the early 1900s.

Trivia aside, this is our Australian Labradoodle - She is such a wonderful soul and the subject of some new projects I have on the go. In this screenshot, you can see I'm working on rough drafts of customizable keychains :)

How does it work?!?

A simple photograph when viewed digitally has layers to it. In the 3D printing world, they are commonly called HueForge photos. Printing filaments allow a specific amount of light through each of their layers and when combined create a very cool 3 dimensional photo of your pet! I mean you can 'feel' every detail and the look changes depending on viewing angle and lighting.

I work in two simple palettes. Either a combination of black, earth brown, beige and white (warm dimensional look) OR black, blue gray, gray and white (two-tone monochromatic style)

The first time I played around with my own pets, and found a warm earthy style that I simply fell in love with I wanted to start doing this for others. I can manage up to 10x10 inches.
