Layer by layer, that’s how these silk pieces have come to life.

Over the past few months I’ve built each one slowly. A layer of colour, then a pause. Another layer, then another pause. Silk doesn’t let you rush it, and honestly, I’ve stopped trying to.

Now I’m nearing the stretching stage, the final step before they’re finished. And I can’t help but think about how much I’ve learned about myself while slowing down. I came into this thinking I was making paintings. Turns out I was also learning how to stay put.

It takes me back to a journal entry I wrote this summer called be where your feet are. I didn’t know then how much this medium would ask me to live it.

A small silk collection launches in November, and my newsletter subscribers will see it first. If you’d like to be one of them, the link to join is in my bio. 💙

For the past five months, I’ve been quietly exploring painting on silk … something I’ve wanted to do for years.

I love how the light moves through each piece, changing the colors and bringing a completely different feeling to the work throughout the day.

A small collection is slowly coming together in the studio, and I can’t wait to share more with you as we get closer to November.

A little glimpse of the process so far…
