Most entries are something you move through. We made this one something you arrive in.

At Lantern House, the foyer sets the tone for the rest of the house. Dark masonry, warm oak, a tree held behind glass, and light used as part of the architecture.

That same language carries into the living room and primary bedroom, but it begins at the front door. By evening, the house shifts again. The architecture becomes the backdrop for how you live in the space.

At Lantern House, arrival is part of the architecture. A nearly frameless glass enclosure brings a tree into the centre of the foyer. It separates the entry from the stair without closing either one off.

Dark masonry gives the space weight. White oak, warm plaster and low lighting soften the environment. That same material language is carried throughout the house. By evening, the dark exterior gives way to a warm interior glow.

Toronto condo design is often less about adding space and more about using the footprint better.

At Trolley Crescent, the square footage wasn’t the problem. The issue was how the space was organized.

Storage was fragmented. The foyer made a poor first impression. The room felt smaller than it was.

So the solution focused on structure: full-height millwork, better circulation, and storage that worked harder without asking for more floor area.
The result is quieter, more functional, and more intentional.

A finished concept rarely begins with a finished-looking idea. The Carriage Residence started with a feeling: warm, contained and calm. From there, we worked on narrowing the language to capture that feeling. Warm walnut. Soft plaster. Natura stone. Boucle and linen. A splash of oxblood. Blackened metal for contract. We didn’t want an overly styled spaced. Just enough so the materials could work together. The rooftop terrace changed the footprint. What was originally a compact residence suddenly became a little more expansive.

In a compact footprint, circulation can’t be wasted space.

For The Carriage Residence, the stair had to do more than connect two levels.

Rather than tuck it away, we treated it as part of the architecture: a sculptural curve that organizes the lower level, draws the eye upward, and turns the transition to the rooftop into a moment of its own.

In small-space design, the question is rarely how to fit more in. It’s what deserves to take up space.

Compact footprint.

The Carriage Residence is a conceptual study that began with one question: what if a train carriage became a luxury residence?

Rather than fight the narrow footprint, we treated it like a compact city home. Warm walnut, integrated storage, a retrained kitchen and a sculptural stair leading somewhere quite unexpected.

Upstairs, the footprint opens into a private terrace.

All our projects begin with a conversation.

It’s not about tile, faucets, wall colour or accessories. It’s about how our clients want to live in their space. Those conversations lead us to a design direction.

Materials, textures, colours, and finishes are not individual pieces. They are part of a larger story. This palette established the foundation for the principal bedroom ensuite. It informed every design decision that followed.
