From serious literature to serious love stories! šŸ“ššŸ’–

My first degree was in English Lit, which was all about serious and ā€œimportant literaryā€ books. To tell you the truth, it was too much. I got bored of constantly looking for deep meaning in the writing and, sadly, stopped enjoying readingā€”something Iā€™ve loved since I was a little girl.

Now, I still pick up the occasional serious book, but mostly I read just for pleasure. I love the book equivalent of a great Rom-Com movie! So, when my friend told me about the first Ever After Romance Books Festival in Toronto, I had to go! šŸ„‚āœØ

We dove headfirst into the fluffiest, most fun weekend: author talks, an afternoon tea (pinkies up!), and snagging signed copies of all the best rom-com reads.

Iā€™ve officially reached peak ā€˜TBRā€™ (To Be Read) pile status and Iā€™m not mad about it. My reading list is now 99% lighthearted reads and I am ready for the coziness to begin! šŸŽ„šŸŽ… I am especially here for a good Christmas romance.

On my ā€˜Niceā€™ list this Christmas Season:

Christmas by Candlelight by Karen Swan: Loved it! It had more substance than I thought and loved spending time in an old English Manor.
The Christmas Wager by Holly Cassidy: Basically a big-town girl visits small town, falls for the rugged guyā€”well you get it šŸ˜Š

The Secret Christmas Library: Canā€™t wait to get to this one because I just love reading anything set in England.

Hey there, kitchen enthusiasts! šŸŒŸ

I've always believed that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and if that's true, then the island is the heartbeat. It's no secret that I have a soft spot for big, bold kitchen islands. I like to think of them as the superheroes of kitchen design ā€“ sturdy, versatile, always the centre of attention.

Picture this: a sprawling island that offers endless storage with drawers galore and a sleek microwave built right in. On the back side, it provides extra storage for the dining area and keeps everything looking neat with tucked-in seating. It's the ultimate hangout spot, whether you're sipping your morning coffee, engaging in lively conversations with friends, or helping the kids with their homework while you whip up dinner.

There's something so satisfying about having a space where functionality meets style, and a big island is just that. It's my personal playground in the kitchen where creativity flows as freely as the coffee.
