It’s been exactly a year since I launched Laura Stein | Interior Design Business Mentor | LSI Workshop (One year and two weeks, if you’re counting, which of course, I am!) It’s been a year of growth, learning & changes, so I thought it was a good time to reintroduce myself. I’m Laura. Designer, brand strategist, mom, chocolate lover, Earl Grey addict, entrepreneur and mentor.

I started my career in marketing, building brands & telling stories through design. Then, in my 30’s, I found my passion in interior design and started my own firm, with no experience & no clue what I was doing. But I learned, mostly the hard way. I built Laura Stein Interiors into a 7-figure, internationally recognized luxury design firm, and now have more than 20 years under my belt.

But sometimes success looks different than what you expected, and sometimes it changes. I had achieved what I set out to with LSI, and I was ready for something new. So I cut back on client projects & started working behind the scenes on something different.

Last August I launched LSI Workshop, bringing together my branding & marketing experience with everything I had learned building & running my design firm. I wanted to help more designers achieve their goals, and pass along the kind of guidance I wish someone had given me when I felt stuck trying to figure things out on my own.

LSI Workshop is a space for mentorship, support, community and inspiration. It was created to help interior design entrepreneurs build the impact, influence, fulfillment and freedom their business was meant to create.

Earlier this year I wrote that I was tuning out the noise and refocusing on my own standards. That meant being absent from social while I had my head down recalibrating LSI Workshop. I’ve been strengthening everything. Better programming, new ways to work with me, and new resources built for what designers actually need, in this market. There’s a lot coming over the next few weeks & months, and I can’t wait to share it with you.

This holiday season, we are working with a wonderful junior public school in one of Toronto’s most at-risk neighbourhoods. The school library is in desperate need of an overhaul. Their books are dated and torn and the furniture is falling apart. Our goal is raise enough money for them to:
⭐️ replace their shelving with reliable, sturdy and safe bookshelves
⭐️ add new comfortable furniture and work stations for kids to read and learn
⭐️ and, most importantly, replace their aging and damaged book collection

This is a large endeavour, so we are reaching out to the broader community to help. The kids at this school don’t have the same resources many of us do, and creating an environment that encourages learning and fosters a love of reading couldn’t be more important.

If you can help, please do. Every donation over $20 receives a tax credit, but the more you can give the better. We have a lofty goal.
