In the early 80’s wall covering was taking hold as the trendy decor product. Several manufacturers and distributors joined together to form a group called the Canadian Wallcovering Distributors Association, CWDA. ows Fashion Association was incorporated as a not-for-profit Ontario Corporation in 1994. WWFA changed once again to become Walls Window Furnishings Association in 1996 to bring together other associated segments of the Interior Decor Industry. For seven years WWFA partnered with The Floor Coverings Institute of Ontario and The Paint and Decorating Association to stage the popular Interiors Decor Showcase in Toronto. This annual event included 500 plus exhibitors from the Decor Industry. As the popularity of Trade Shows waned and the internet brought instant access to new information and sources, WWFA turned to this medium to promote its members products and services. It was the Board of Directors decision to put WWFA’s focus on the internet to become an active source for advertising, information and education on all Interior Decor Products and Services. Our name was again changed to reflect this ever widening scope to Interior Decor Resources Canada, IDRC. IDRC is the what and where information resource for Products, Services and Education for the Interior Decorating Industry. Membership is open to businesses actively engaged in the supply of products or services to the Interior Decorating Industry. In 2010 the IDRC established an Annual Awards Program for Graduating Interior Decorating Students in Canada so new blood will be forever flowing into a vibrant industry. Several of the founding members are still involved with the daily operations.
