Now for the finishing touch. In today’s post, I’m painting our cherry blossom branch using the Koi Travel Watercolour Set, adding soft layers of pink, green, and warmth.

You’ll see how just a little colour and a minute or two can completely transform an ink drawing. Simple tools, beautiful results.

Last year I got to create this bouquet for one of my closest friends to gift on Valentine’s Day to someone she had just recently started dating. The relationship was new, but as she put it, “I just have a really strong feeling about this… I think she’s my soulmate.” A birth flower for each of them, and a birth flower representing each of their kids.

It’s been just over a year since I drew this and they just celebrated their first Valentine’s Day as a married couple.

Sometimes our gut just knows.

Cherry blossoms are often associated with renewal, beauty, and the fleeting nature of life. A reminder to notice what’s blooming right now.

In today’s tutorial, we’re taking yesterday’s single flower and turning it into a full branch with multiple blooms and buds using only a Micron pen.

This is where simple shapes become something expressive and alive. Start small. Build slowly. Trust the process.
