🌼 October in Saskatchewan… and my cucumber is still blooming! 🥒😂

It's October here in Saskatchewan, the air is getting crisp, and yet I just found a little cucumber flower. Nature never stops surprising me! 🌿

Small moments like this remind me to slow down and appreciate what's growing, in the greenhouse and in life.

We just freeze-dried 4 dozen eggs, and I'm amazed by the result!

Hours later, everything came out light, crunchy and perfectly preserved. No fridge needed, and they can last up to 25 years when stored properly. 🙌🎉

Why I love it:

🥚 Just add water to rehydrate and cook as usual

We're trying something new in the kitchen today: freeze drying raw eggs. 🙌

I've always wondered if it works, and if freeze dried eggs are worth keeping on the shelf for baking, scrambles and quick breakfasts. Today we find out!

Next step: rehydrate them and cook with them. I'll share the results (the good, the bad and the rubbery 😅).

🧄 Fall planting season is here!

We just planted 200 bulbs of garlic at the honey barn. Now we let the earth do its quiet work through the winter, and we look forward to harvesting next summer. 🌱☀️🌺

There's something so grounding about planting something now for a harvest you'll only enjoy months later.

Le vrai luxe pour moi aujourd’hui, c'est d'avoir l'énergie de suivre le rythme de ma vie.

C'est de pouvoir faire mon jardin, le voir pousser, le récolter.

C'est de me permettre de faire ce que j'ai à faire, sans souffrir.

Pouvoir s’offrir un VRAI BON repas, qui vient d’ici, de chez nous. ❤️ Les fruits de nos labeurs.

Le luxe, c'est de la vitalité.

October is here, which means it's time to get my garlic in the ground for next year!

There's something so satisfying about planting something now, tucking it in for the winter, and knowing it'll reward me with a beautiful harvest next summer. ❤️🧄

A few things I love about growing garlic:

• Fall planting = patience pays off
• Nothing beats homegrown garlic in the kitchen
• It's basically a "plant it and forget it" crop until spring
