Before anyone rushes to correct me… yes, I know the “before” and “after” are reversed. 😂
I purposely gave the dated b**b lights their big “after” moment just to see who’s actually reading the words.

I say this with love, because I know we’ve all done it.
You stand in front of the paint display, pull a few colours that look pretty, tape them to the wall… and then suddenly none of them make sense.
That’s because paint is never chosen by itself.
Especially in a kitchen.
Your wall colour has to work with your cabinets, countertops, backsplash, flooring, lighting, and all the sneaky undertones hiding in those finishes.☀️

I’m just going to say it.
Short drapery is the capri pant of window treatments.
There. I said it. 🤣
And while we’re upsetting people… hanging the rod "right above" the window frame is not the designer move many think it is.
The goal is to make the window look taller, the ceiling feel higher, and the room look more grand.
Here’s the rule I stand by:
Hang the rod high — about 3/4 of the way up the wall space above the window frame.
Then hang it wide — ideally 10–13 inches past the outside of the frame on each side. (This will depend heavily on the thickness of your fabric.)✨
And please, for the love of pretty rooms, don’t let your panels hover awkwardly above the floor, 1/2 inch is perfect.
Drapery should feel generous. Polished. Thoughtful.
Not like it was ordered in a panic at midnight with one eye open.
Save this before you buy curtains. Send it to your bestie that's struggling with curtains. 😉
Because the right rod placement can make a basic window look custom.
