Small Corner, Big Impact!

That little corner in your home? It might have more potential than you think!

Sometimes it’s the smallest spaces that make the biggest impact.

A once overlooked corner can become a beautiful focal point with a little creativity, the right furnishings, artwork, lighting and, of course, COLOUR!

For this transformation, we used Iron Ore SW 7069 by Sherwin-Williams in Emerald Matte Finish, a rich, dramatic charcoal that adds depth and character while allowing the natural wood and warm textures to shine.

You don’t always need a major renovation to make a statement. Sometimes it’s simply about seeing the potential in a space.

Friday Design Tip | Dining Room Lighting 💡

A beautiful light fixture can completely transform a dining room, but getting the height and size right makes all the difference!

One of the most common mistakes I see is a chandelier hung too high above the dining table.

My recommendation is to hang your fixture approximately 30–36 inches above the tabletop, depending on your ceiling height and the size of the fixture.

For sizing, aim for a fixture that’s approximately half to two-thirds the width of your table.

And don’t forget a dimmer! Lighting should be functional for everyday meals but also create a warm, inviting atmosphere when entertaining.

Sometimes it’s the smallest details that make the biggest impact.

I had the pleasure of sharing my professional insight on choosing the right tiles for your home, including the pros and cons of peel-and-stick versus traditional tile.

One thing I’ve always believed is that great decorating isn’t just about making a space look beautiful. It’s about making informed choices, investing wisely, and creating a home that works for you.

What a difference the right paint colour can make! 🎨

From dark wood beams and exposed red brick to a beautiful, bright, welcoming space!

For this transformation, we chose Sherwin-Williams Alabaster (SW 7008) in their premium Emerald paint line, bringing warmth, softness, and a fresh new look to this home.

We painted everything, including the brick fireplace, wood beams, walls, and vaulted ceiling, creating a cohesive look while keeping all that beautiful architectural character.

What I love about Alabaster is that it’s not a stark, cold white. It has a beautiful warmth that works wonderfully with natural wood tones.

And when it comes to paint, quality matters! Sherwin-Williams Emerald offers excellent coverage, durability, and a beautiful finish.

Sometimes you don’t need a major renovation to completely transform a space. Just the right colour, quality paint, and a great team of painters.

As much as I love creating beautiful spaces, it’s the people who fill them that make a house a home.

The laughter, the celebrations, the family gatherings, the little moments and the memories we make along the way.

Choosing the right paint colour is just as important as the quality of the paint job itself!

I’m fortunate to work alongside several professional painting companies who bring me in for colour consultations before their projects begin.

Why? Because choosing the right colour isn’t always as simple as picking a swatch!

Lighting, undertones, flooring, furnishings and the overall feel of a home all play an important role.

By reworking the furniture, warming up the styling and giving the fireplace the attention it deserved, this room went from feeling unfinished to pulled together and inviting.
