Choosing a side table? Start from the seat.

Sit where you normally sit and check where your hand comfortably reaches. Then look at three things together:
• The usable tabletop after a lamp or book is added
• The base footprint around feet and chair mechanisms
• The clear route into and out of the seating area

Keep everyday stone care simple: blot spills promptly, clean with a soft cloth and a suitable pH-neutral product, rinse away residue and dry. Use coasters, and lift rough objects instead of dragging them.
