Turns out, it really doesn’t matter how many times you measure before cutting once, when your math is wrong to begin with 🙃

‼️ SAVE this before you install your next IKEA kitchen cabinet! The IKEA Sektion Rail instructions actually assume that you have legs on your cabinet, which changes the measurements!

With this formula, you are subtracting 2 5/16” from the top of your cabinet, and that measurement will give you where the BOTTOM of your Sektion rail should sit in order for it to hang properly.

EXAMPLE:
You have an upper cabinet. You want the TOP of the cabinet to measure at 90” from the floor. You subtract 2 5/16” from 90” which = 87 11/16” from the floor. This is where the BOTTOM EDGE of your rail should sit after installation.
