Sometimes the best backup plan is an old friend. 🧵❤️
A couple of weeks ago, my main sewing machine started acting up. Stitches were suddenly tiny, the sewing was all over the place, and no amount of cleaning, rethreading, adjusting tension, changing needles, or internet troubleshooting could bring her back to life.
She’s currently in the capable hands of The Green Thimble waiting for her check-up. 🤞
In the meantime, I dusted off this old Kenmore—my mom gave her to me when I was in my 20s. She may not have all the bells and whistles, but she’s built like a tank, has a fantastic motor, and she’s happily stepping in while my everyday machine is away.
With three markets in July to sew for, there wasn’t much time to sit around waiting. So it’s back to the classics, and honestly… she’s reminding me why these vintage machines have such a loyal following.
Here’s to old machines, backup plans, and keeping the sewing going. 💛
