Over 899,000 homes and new multiplexes across BC are designed by local, independent designers—NOT corporate architects. We do the heavy lifting to build this province.
Yet, a massive regulatory bottleneck is choking local small businesses and stalling the housing crisis.

When we brought a common-sense fix to Victoria, the response was a bureaucratic shrug: “Parliament is on vacation until October.” Meanwhile, the OSPG stays completely silent on this workplace abuse.

We’ve delivered a final ultimatum to the Ministry: Make this regulatory reform a top priority for October, or face a formal human rights complaint.

📢 If you think common sense should come before political vacations, hit SHARE and spread this video!

Is a workplace rights violation acceptable if it only targets one small business owner? 🏛️
I recently brought formal evidence of systemic regulatory bottlenecks to the Office of the Superintendent of Professional Governance (OSPG). Shockingly, their official stance is that because my case represents an “individual” matter, they will not take action.

A violation of fairness is against the law—period. It shouldn’t matter if it happens to one person or a hundred. By deflecting, the OSPG allows a protectionist culture to persist, creating an environment of fear where independent local designers are terrified to speak up.

If the BC government truly wants to cut red tape and accelerate Part 9 residential housing, they must hold their own regulatory bodies accountable.

Many people think I am fighting the AIBC, but that is not true. 🏛️
I am not fighting the organization itself. I am fighting an old-fashioned, deeply entrenched culture within a government-backed regulator that desperately needs modernization.

The building industry is split. While architects handle large-scale projects, Part 9 buildings—like single-family homes and duplexes—are where independent architectural technologists and home designers excel. We are our own boss and do not need architect’s supervision.

Yet, under the outdated Architects Act, we face systemic discrimination and workplace bullying. This isn’t just a regulatory disagreement; it’s a human rights issue at the workplace.

The regulations must change to protect local small businesses and workplace fairness. Drop your thoughts in the comments below. 👇

Describing why I’m putting so many videos:
Imagine being a perfect driver for decades, following every rule, only to be handed a massive traffic ticket because a neighbour made an unfair complaint—even though you did absolutely nothing wrong. 🚗💨

In our justice system, you are innocent until proven otherwise. Disputing an unjust charge doesn’t make you guilty.

Unfortunately, this isn’t a hypothetical story. This is exactly what happened to my home design business.

As a registered architectural technologist, the AIBC hit me with a staggering $62,000 fine, claiming I misrepresented myself, despite the clear fact that I have never once called myself an architect. 🏛️💸

I am fighting this unjust system to ensure no other independent building designer, technologist, or local small business owner faces this kind of systemic discrimination again. Drop your thoughts in the comments below. Let’s make sure our voices are heard. ⚖️
