Finally sent these beauties home. 💜

When I first made this bear beadwork, I created it off an idea she sent to me and I ran with it. Somewhere along the way I questioned whether it was the right design and almost changed it.

I'm so glad I didn't.

There is something gentle and strong about this bear, and after getting to know the woman these were being made for, I realized the original beadwork had been the right choice all along.

This pair took far longer than either of us ever expected. A whole lot of life happened between the first stitch and the last. But somewhere in all that time, the person waiting patiently on the other end stopped being just a customer and became a woman I love and call my friend (and call weekly!)

I made a pair of mukluks — and somehow I made a best friend too. 💜

Sometimes the design is right in the first place. It's the timing that needs to catch up.

Update on my incredibly well worn pair, I had to replace the fabric. Everything else, liner & leather is holding up nicely. Sad I didn’t have enough bear fabric this time and surprised how much warmer the new fabric is (im going back to bear fabric asap!) Wyatt is going to be upset we don’t have matching muks for a bit. 😅

P.S - I know they are as mismatched as my socks! I didn’t want to use material that can be better used for orders, so used pieces that sorta worked 🫣
