Thomas Robinson, our pioneer, was the first generation Robinson family member that ventured int
o the lighting industry as a chandler (candle maker). During 1919, W.W Robinson sold the first pre-wired fixtures which at the time was considered revolutionary. The company prospered during the roaring twenties, before W.W Robinson passed away in 1935. Robinson, a third generation Robinson. The company supplied both lighting and electrical products to residential and commercial customers, and remained resilient amidst the great depression. In 1973, Burt's two sons, Ross and Bruce Robinson became the new successors of the company, and later parted to create independent specialty stores. Bruce Robinson focused on specializing in lighting, creating a separate standing entity named Robinson Lighting in the year of 1998. Today, Brett Robinson (President) and his sister, Leigh Robinson (Vice President), are the fifth generation of the Robinson family to continue the legacy. Both Brett and Leigh Robinson are active members of the American Lighting Association, and serve on a number of other leading international and regional lighting technology associations. Robinson Lighting is one of the largest showroom-based distributors of lighting products and is known as an industry advocate and leader in lighting education.
