Yi Design Our mission is to solve the problem of ceramic waste in China by creating eco-friendly materials. Annually Jingdezhen produces a huge amount of waste ceramics.

Apart from designing regular ceramic products for interiors and public spaces, we also want to be responsible, environmentally conscious artists. Because of the nature of the porcelain and the non-scientific way many of the studios and factories manufacture products, there are a lot of failed products. Our own studio with 8 eight years of experience in manufacturing small quantities of work produc

ed 30-50% failures. Failures included over fired or warped pieces, badly formulated glazes, bottled gas with impurities. With failure comes ceramics that cannot be sold and are thrown away in dumpsters and left in storage for years. Inspired by the amount of waste ceramics produced in Jingdezhen, we have decided to go into researching ways of recycling.
