Obsessive fine finishing used to make my hands bleed. I think it was my desperate attempt to create something through which you could almost look inside the material, look through the tree itself. The mirror-like finish also made you see yourself - a complete reflection on the intense beauty of nature and the human interference that is causing its demise.
As we begin COP16 in Cali, Colombia this week, leaders from around the world will come together to make commitments to conserving biodiversity and urgently protecting our planet. Let’s not turn these meetings into discussions about more meeting - let’s put opportunities in the hands of the people on the ground, doing the work. ✊🏽💚
