Questa illustrazione è il mio modo di prendere una posizione.
È stata ispirata dal progetto del resort a Cala Finanza in Sardegna, ma riflette anche una realtà più ampia che si sta delineando lungo le coste italiane, tra cui anche quella di Ostuni (che da pugliese mi tocca in modo particolare!). Paesaggi sempre più fragili rischiano di essere rimodellati dallo sviluppo turistico e dagli investimenti privati.
Quanta natura siamo disposti a sacrificare in nome dello sviluppo?
Le nostre coste sono molto più che semplici destinazioni turistiche. Sono ecosistemi viventi, ricordi condivisi e dimora per le persone e la fauna selvatica che vi abitavano ben prima che si potesse immaginare l’esistenza di resort di lusso.
Il progresso non dovrebbe mai significare sacrificare la biodiversità o trasformare i paesaggi pubblici in spazi esclusivi riservati a pochi privilegiati.
La natura non è un ostacolo allo sviluppo. È la nostra più grande eredità.🌼💚

It was inspired by the resort project in Cala Finanza, Sardinia, but it also reflects a broader reality that is taking shape along Italy’s coastlines, including that of Ostuni (which, as someone from Puglia, affects me in a special way!). Increasingly fragile landscapes are at risk of being reshaped by tourism development and private investment.
How much of nature are we willing to sacrifice in the name of development?
Our coasts are much more than mere tourist destinations. They are living ecosystems, shared memories, and homes for the people and wildlife that inhabited them long before anyone could have imagined the existence of luxury resorts.
Progress should never mean sacrificing biodiversity or transforming public landscapes into exclusive spaces reserved for a privileged few.
Nature is not an obstacle to development. It is our greatest legacy.🌼💚
