My first pattern for October is a lovely round yoke sweater with bilberry-themed colorwork. This DK weight sweater features a cozy, folded turtleneck with a little zipper at the front. You can find the pattern in my shops now, it's called Bilberry Haze. 🌿

Nordic Knits 2 is out today! 🥳 And it includes my little Kaarlo vest pattern. 🩷 The design was inspired my grandfather's days as a rope maker when he was young. It's a lovely, rustic vest with broken ribbing and fancy double-knitted button band. The contrast colour cables on the right front are worked as a combination of intarsia and stranded knitting. Go find the magazine and learn a new trick for your knits. 😘

I have a new design out! Meet Bilberry Haze, a round yoke sweater with an enchanting berry-inspired colorwork pattern on the yoke and cuffs. This one is designed for DK weight yarn and Merino Seta Tones has beautiful gradient colorways just perfect for this type of pattern. The sweater pattern is now available on Ravelry, my webshop and Katia's website.

Finally, a couple photos of my third Viisto sweater that I knitted with you during the KAL. Recent years have been hard for any business owner and I've seen many yarn shops and designers close their shops. I too have felt anxious and like a failure when designs haven't been selling like they used to. And this creative business feels so personal in every way. When a design flops (like the one sweater that sold just three copies) it's impossible not to take it personally and feel like it's me that's not good enough. All this to say the biggest thank you to everyone taking part in Viisto KAL, or just shown excitement for the design. This knit-a-long has been the biggest moral booster and I'll carry it in my heart for a long time. Thank you for coming along for the ride. 🥰

For me, knitting is all about the little details. The subtle colour changes, neat bind-offs and little secrets hidden in plain sight. My Lucky Lavender sweater is covered in shamrocks but there's a chart for you to hide one lucky clover among them. Would you place it on the sleeve or body? Mine is hiding at the back.
