KOIVUI® thermally modified panels are an excellent choice for both interior and exterior cladding in all climate conditions.

The panels combine design, high quality, and the eco-friendliness and responsibility of the material. The panels are manufactured in our family-owned planing mill in Eastern Finland. The raw material, Finnish thermally modified pine, is an environmentally friendly, chemical-free, and durable material that offers both longevity and a beautiful, natural appearance. The sorting process of the material and careful quality control ensure that only high-quality panels are delivered to your project.

Heat modification changes how pine behaves while preserving its natural character.

Using only heat and steam, the process modifies the wood throughout — without added chemicals.

The result is thermally modified pine — retaining its natural grain while offering enhanced performance for a wider range of applications.

Nature provides the material. Heat helps it perform. 🤎

Take a closer look — do you notice it?

Trimless panel installation creates a clean, refined look.

And there’s one detail here you might not even notice at first — an access hatch seamlessly integrated into the panelling.

Small details matter, too. 🤎

During heat modification, resin is released from the wood. But that's only part of what happens.

The process also reduces how much moisture the wood absorbs, improving its dimensional stability.

Heat gives the wood its warm brown tone throughout.

Through it all, the natural character of Finnish pine remains. 🤎

Which one is your favourite?

Same material, three different profiles.

Across larger surfaces — from walls and ceilings to façades — wood can create a cohesive and striking look and become a defining element of the architecture.

But wood doesn't have to cover the entire surface. A partially panelled ceiling, for example, can create contrast between wood and a lighter surface.

Crisp white paired with the warm brown tone of thermally modified pine creates a fresh, balanced look.

It's not just about how much wood you use, but the role you want it to play.

Would you go all in with wood or use it more selectively? 🤎

Natural wood shapes more than just how a space looks.

Several studies suggest that people often perceive spaces with natural wood as warmer, calmer and more inviting.

There may be no single answer, but rather a combination of factors.

The texture of natural wood, its visual warmth and the connection to nature it can evoke may all contribute to that feeling.

Together, these factors may help explain why natural wood continues to be valued in homes, workplaces and public spaces.

How does a space with natural wood make you feel? 🤎
