Despite the sunshine today, we can all feel that shift in the air as the light changes and we welcome autumn. I can feel myself leaning into the cosy feeling and warm tones (though I am not quite ready to embrace the dark evenings yet!). This mood board today feels fitting of the season…

I’m a big fan of the micro shaker door at the moment . It’s such a beautiful mix of contemporary and traditional: the clean, minimal lines of modern design paired with the timeless craftsmanship of a classic shaker profile. It’s a detail that feels fresh yet familiar, and it adds so much character to a space.

Pairing this coffee brown with oak tones and splashes of golden brass - there is something so classy and inviting about it all. As the days get shorter and the air turns crisp, a palette like this makes a home feel like a warm welcome — the kind of place you want to curl up in.

Do you lean toward warm, cosy tones as autumn arrives, or do you keep things bright and airy all year? I’d love to know.

This summer seems to have flown by! Back in June I had a very hectic month project managing the installation of studio in Ilkley, alongside Jon and Richard.

The studio has gone from a dull and outdated grey space, to a fresh palette of greens and oaks, layered with texture and planting. We wanted to achieve a feel that was very different for the industrial and dark looks of many gyms, to reflect the focus on health and wellbeing, and care of clients, that Jon and Richard pride themselves in.

I am lucky to work with some fantastic trades and suppliers who sourced me products, helped out when unexpected issues cropped up, and allowed me to deliver an amazing new look with a short closure.

The Yorkshire Painting Company - somehow transformed the rough walls into the a good finish without a replaster (some serious filler was used!).

for stepping in and saving us when the landlord’s trades couldn’t fix the water ingress

and for the tiles

for the cabinetry, reception desk and panelling

I have just been looking back at the before images of this project, and it’s easy to forget how far it has come…

We kept a lot of the existing furniture and accessories in this room as they told the history of the family, and had been brought here from their time living abroad.

A new, rich wall colour makes their existing feature furniture and amazing artwork pop in a way it just wasn’t before. New styling accessories work with the oriental pieces, ensuring the overall feel is contemporary and classy.

New sofas, armchairs and tables were key to making this room function better for hosting guests, maximising the opportunity of the generous room proportions.

One of my favourite projects to date. I love the richness and personality of this room. Thank you to my clients for trusting me with their home, it is always a privilege.

A sneak peak of the Addingham Bathroom - still waiting for a few finishing touches, but I am so pleased with how it’s all looking.

A tricky balance of requests from husband and wife to combine into a relaxing, spa like, yet traditional bathroom. I think we nailed it.

Thanks to Tim for turning my design into a beautifully fitted space, with great attention to detail.

Even the hardest-working rooms in your home deserve to be beautiful! Utility rooms and boot rooms are often treated as purely practical spaces — but why shouldn’t they feel just as considered and welcoming as the rest of your home?

For this project, we took our colour cues from the sunroom next door, gently toning them down to create a softer, more grounded palette. The result is a space that feels connected, calm and cohesive — yet perfectly suited to muddy boots, wagging tails and everyday life.

The room itself was a tricky shape, with limited storage opportunities, so creativity was key. We designed bespoke storage to make every inch work harder:

• A made-to-measure coat and shoe solution tucked neatly beneath the window
• Dedicated storage for dog leads, towels and treats
• A bench for extra storage and a place to sit to get muddy shoes on and off. It also hides the underfloor heating manifold.
• Practical cabinetry that keeps clutter hidden while maintaining a warm, welcoming feel

Because functionality doesn’t mean compromising on style — and even the most practical spaces deserve thoughtful design, we added extra details like the stunning splash back and the reeded orange doors to make this room really stand out!

This morning’s sunrise stopped me in my tracks — those fiery oranges and soft purples sweeping across the sky created that wonderful sense of awe you only get from nature showing off.

It’s a reminder of how powerful natural colour can be. Sometimes we feel like nature is muted and safe, but when we bring the bold side of nature into our interiors — whether through warm sunset tones, rich earthy palettes, or vivid botanical shades — we invite that same uplifting energy into our homes.

Colour has an incredible ability to shift our mood, spark our conversations and creativity, and create spaces that feel alive and deeply connected to the world outside.

It’s amazing how one accessory can completely change the mood of a space…

This pendant from Lights & Lamps turns a simple stairwell into something that feels finished, thoughtful — and honestly, a bit fabulous! The soft curves add warmth and personality, the ribbing echoes the ceiling , while the white finish keeps it fresh and bright and contrasts the walls. A hallway that felt very safe and traditional, is now becoming a beautiful modern space reflective of its occupants.

It’s the small touches like this that take a space from “ok” to “damn, that’s good.”

So glad my client went with this option (it was my favourite). ❤️

A progress shot from my clients who are implementing this design themselves. The decorator has been in and the walls are done, new sockets and switches are in, some of the new lights in place too. Now just waiting on sofas, armchairs, rug, and new coffee tables.
Such a gorgeous colour, perfect for cosy nights.
