๐จ๐ผ๏ธ Creativity has always been in my bones. As a teenager, I lived for art lessons; GCSE, A Level, then a Design Foundation course before heading off to study Design at university. It felt like the world had opened up in colour and texture.
But life doesnโt always follow a straight line. I went on to do a Masters in Marketing, and what I thought would be a detour turned into a 12-year career in the corporate world. I learned a huge amount, but as the years rolled by, something didnโt feel quite me.
Then came my children and with them, a shift. The relentless pace of the rat race suddenly didnโt appeal in the same way. I wanted my work to bring joy, not just stress. I took a step back to ask myself: What do I truly love doing?
The answer was staring me in the face. Iโd always been the one helping friends and family with their homesโchoosing colours, sourcing furniture, pulling everything together so their spaces felt โjust right.โ Why not turn that passion into a business?
So I did. Ten years ago, I swapped corporate boardrooms for moodboards, and Iโve never looked back.
Fast forward to today: Iโve carved out my niche as a Biophilic Designer, marrying my love of interiors with my deep connection to nature. For me, design isnโt just about pretty wallpaper or perfectly plumped cushions, itโs about creating homes that really work for the people who live in them. Homes that bring joy and calm in equal measure. A sanctuary to retreat to, or a place to gather and celebrate.
It feels like Iโve come full circleโback to creativity, but this time with purpose. ๐ฟ
โจ Iโd love to hear your story too. What twists and turns brought you to where you are today?
