Pretty sure I’m not the only one jealous of the plants right now… they’re out here living their best life with a refreshing cold shower 💦🌿☀️

Wishing everyone a lovely Friday, lots of sunshine, and a relaxing long weekend!

🌿 Plant Spotlight: Variegated Crassula Swaziensis ‘Money maker’

One I really enjoy using in arrangements because it adds lovely height and fullness without feeling too heavy 🌿

It belongs to the Crassulaceae family, like the famous Jade Plant (Crassula ovata), often known as the money plant. The soft velvety leaves have a beautiful pale green colour with creamy edges, and with plenty of sunshine the edges can turn a pretty pink too, which makes every plant look slightly different depending on the season and light. It’s also a very easy-going succulent and perfect for a bright windowsill.

🌿 Care Tips:

☀️ Light: Loves bright indirect light with a little morning or evening sun. More light can help bring out the pink edges.
💧 Water: Let the soil dry out fully between waterings. It’s very drought tolerant and dislikes sitting in wet soil.
🪴 Soil: Best in a well-draining cactus or succulent mix.
🌡️ Temperature: Prefers warmer temperatures and is not frost hardy, so best protected indoors during UK winters.
✂️ Propagation: Easy to propagate from stem cuttings once allowed to callous over, or even from a single leaf.

🌿 Fun Facts:

• The nickname “Moneymaker” comes from its coin-like leaves and the long feng shui tradition of Crassulas symbolising prosperity, wealth, and good fortune.
• Unlike many jade-type succulents, its leaves are covered in a soft velvety fuzz, giving the plant a frosted appearance.
• Produces clusters of small, star-shaped, creamy-white flowers.
• Can develop thick branching stems and even be shaped like a mini bonsai.
• Toxic if ingested, so best kept away from pets and small children.

Such a lovely plant for adding soft texture and colour to arrangements 🌿

I’ve been thinking lately how much joy plants can bring into a home, but also how easy it is to run out of time to look after them properly 🌿

Sometimes all a space needs is a little refresh… a new arrangement, a few healthy plants, or simply someone to help bring everything back to life again.
So alongside my arrangements, I’m thinking of offering relaxed local home visits too.

Things like:
• repotting and refreshing plants
• help styling plants in your space
• succulent arrangements for your home
• plant care advice
• holiday watering and general plant care
Nothing too formal, just creating calm, welcoming spaces with plants people can enjoy.

If this is something you’d like to know more about, feel free to send me a message 🌿

I’ve been thinking about when I first fell in love with succulents… and I found some old pictures from my first trip to Cornwall back in 2020 🌿
You can spot these beautiful plants growing around St Ives and at the stunning Minack Theatre.

🌿 Plant Spotlight: Bear’s Paw (Cotyledon tomentosa)

One of the cutest plants in my arrangements because of those super soft, fluffy little leaves. Bear’s Paw adds such lovely texture and contrast, and the tiny red “claws” on the tips make it even more charming. Definitely one of those plants that makes people smile when they notice it 🐻🌿

🌿 Care Tips
☀️ Light: Bright indirect light is best. A little sun can help bring out the red tips.
💧 Water: Let the soil dry fully between waterings. Less water is needed in winter. Avoid watering the leaves.
🌱 Soil: Loves a well-draining cactus or succulent mix with added perlite or grit.
🌡️ Temperature: Not frost hardy, best protected from cold temperatures and frost.
✂️ Propagation: Easiest from stem cuttings after allowing them to callous over.

🌿 Fun Facts
• The fuzzy coating helps protect the plant from heat.
• Originally from South Africa.
• The red “claws” become deeper in colour with more sunlight.
• Despite the fluffy look, the leaves are quite delicate and can drop if handled too much.
• It can also produce beautiful pink-orange, bell-shaped flowers.
• There is also a variegated version with fuzzy green-and-cream leaves.

A little refresh after winter 🌿✨
The round planters are looking pretty again after a few cosmetic changes 🤍
Nothing better than a welcoming entrance softened with plants.

Sometimes I have to let the cups do the talking… and they’re definitely not shy 👀☕🌿
A little cheeky but full of personality.
Happy Friday everyone, hope you’ll have fun this weekend 🤍

Happy 100th Birthday to David Attenborough ✨
Thank you for helping generations fall in love with nature, while also raising awareness of how important it is to protect and be mindful of the world around us 🤍
Here’s a short video about the fascinating world of cacti 🌵Did you know? All cacti are succulents, but not all succulents are cacti.
