I actually have a couple of favourite tools, and they’re both crochet hooks. Not just any hooks though — my go-to are Susan Bates hooks, specifically the 4mm and 5mm. They’re the ones I reach for every time 🧶💕

February Challenge - Day 6 | Make it your way

I am so proud of myself today💖

I've managed to post on social media for 6 consecutive days — which might seem small to some, but for me, after the last 6 months, this is a massive achievement.

Today's challenge is "funny things to make" and these little carrots definitely fit the brief 🥕🥕

These carrots link nicely with yesterday's post too, as they were made for the same lovely lady I crocheted the hippo for. Each year I would crochet her the latest carrot from the TV advert, and without fail... they always made her smile 😊

Funny little makes, full of love, memories, and happy moments — just the way I like it 💜

Something blue… and you know I love a good strong blue — navy, sapphire, all of them 💙

For today’s theme, my crochet make is a hippopotamus 🦛 made up of lots of crocheted hexagons, using wool that reminds me of forget-me-not flowers.

This hippo was donated to a friend who was holding a fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Society after losing her dear friend.

I made this hippo with so much love, stitch by stitch 💙

Focus: Detail in Your Work

Crochet is my go-to at the moment, so today I’m sharing how small details can completely transform a project 🧶

The duck was such a joy to make. The crocheting was the easy part, but the stuffing and placement of the eyes, beak, wings and feet are what really brought it to life 🦆💛

For the cushion, adding bobbles while crocheting the square took it from plain to full of texture and character. Proof that details really do matter!
