With a lot of people calling this piece Death or the grim reaper it evolved from what I had originally planned of a more guardian type figure but sometimes burns don’t go as planned and sometimes they evolve, that’s the nature of working with wood.

So anyway here’s the process of bringing my interpretation of Death to life, one burn at a time.

What feelings does this piece conjure up for you?

This one is still very much a work in progress, but I’m already loving where it’s heading.

There’s still a fair bit of burning to do before this one is finished

Any guesses what’s still missing? 👀

There’s an eyeball hiding somewhere in every Fallen Embers piece. 👁️

It started as a little signature detail… and somehow became a rule I can’t break.

Have you ever spotted one without me pointing it out? 👀

Here’s a close up of the tiny eyes 👀 on this older piece 🖤 🔥

A little bit of Fallen Embers in print 🖤

My paper copy of my article in Go Leor Magazine arrived today, and I had to share it.

Really grateful to Aidan for the opportunity to talk about my work and how Fallen Embers has developed.

It’s quite a nice feeling seeing it all sitting there in print.
