I am sometimes asked why I bother to make handmade cards. Well the answer to that is quite simple – I love doing it! I enjoy the whole process from start to finish and find it relaxing, well most of the time. It has to be said that there are some days when things just don't seem to want to go according to plan and some days I can get the equivalent of 'writer's block' and the design or certain look I am hoping to achieve just won't come, but thankfully I always manage to find my way again. Making my cards can be time consuming, I am not a production line churning out cards by the hour. I like to think about what I am trying to create and the person who it might be intended for. I love learning new techniques and improving my crafting skills. I know that cards can be bought quickly with the supermarket shop nowadays and there are certain wholesalers who specialise in selling cheap imported mass produced cards. Such cards have their place, but if you want to give something unique or to convey a message then nothing says it better than a bespoke card that has been made with the sole intention of making the person who receives it feel special.
