Taken some more gnomes and pottery hanging ornaments to Heart of Handmade this morning as well as ‘Fusion I’, a mixed media ceramics and metalwork pot!

This week I used Jolanda van de Grint’s ‘Saggar Firing in an electric kiln’ book to experiment by carrying out my own saggar firing.
Really chuffed with the results!
I used a combination of oxides, small bits of seaweed, copper wire, straw and wood chippings wrapped around my green ware pot and as combustibles for my firing, and fired my work on a slow bisque up to 1000 degrees.
Still got more experimenting to do but really pleased with the first attempts colours, patterns and effects created!
