Having another go …

This is a scene I first attempted about four years ago, soon after taking up watercolour painting.

If, like me, you know and love Filey, hopefully you’ll recognise the scene as two cobles on Coble Landing.

T’husband liked the first version so much, he framed it and put it on display ❤️ Since then, I’ve seen lots of things I’d do differently should I try it again …

… and though it’s far from perfect, practice has made it better!

Oo, and I’m pleased to report that t’husband also likes this one 😃

Whilst not my usual subject matter, I’m tempted to have it printed onto a greetings card - do you think I should?

My 1st craft fair in November …

… will be on Sunday 1st 👍

… and it’ll be my 1st visit to the Cluntergate Centre in Horbury 😃

A sale, or not a sale, that is the question 😁…

I popped into heART of HANDMADE this morning to re-stock my giraffe totes, and found that my shelf had been reorganised, seemingly because I’d had two mug sales.

Feeling ever so pleased, I mentioned it to Emily, who pointed to a cute little corner of the shop and there they were, my tractor and highland cow mugs, plus a tractor card.

So, unfortunately not sold, but ever so nicely displayed 😃

Why not visit this gorgeous treasure trove of a shop and take a look for yourself? And if you don’t like my items, that’s OK, there are loads of lovely things to peruse 😊

Which herbal tea is a camel’s favourite? …

… camel-mile 😜

I fancied painting a camel, I painted one standing up and it was too tall to fit onto a greetings card, so I’ve painted a second one, this time, kneeling down 😁

And now I need a pun-style greeting … hmmm …

For Christmas there’s the classic “oh camel ye faithful”, but what about for other special occasions?

Can you think of anything fun and family-friendly please?

What a well-written sign …

… it’s fixed to the harbour railings in St Ives, Cornwall, and its wording impressed me.

It isn’t shouty, it’s not patronising and it’s not dramatic, it simply says what it needs to, in a polite and respectful way 👌

I hope that other visitors will not only take a moment to read the sign, but will pay attention to it.

My little seal (on the right) says she agrees with me! 😊

Running out of ruminants …

… I agree, that’s an awful attempt at artistic alliteration! 😉

Emily tells me I’ve had a bit of a run on giraffe totes and I’m down to my last one at heART of HANDMADE. I’m away on holiday this week, but I’ll pop in to re-stock next week.

I’m completely hopeless at second guessing what’s going to be a best seller, and it keeps surprising me, e.g. at my last market (The New Inn Walton Market), it was my Humboldt penguin.

I’m thrilled that my art is popular. If you’ve chosen to buy one of my tote bags or other items, thank you ever so much 😊 x

“When has the bread stall EVER had anything left?!” 🤔 …

… said by a fellow stall holder and so true, it was strangely quiet yesterday, despite the gorgeous weather. Perhaps it was because of it? Anyhoo, we couldn’t fathom it!

So, a big thank you to everyone who did come. We love chatting with you at The New Inn Walton Market and very much appreciate your support ❤️

To my customers specifically … I didn’t ask everyone’s name, so I can’t thank you directly, but I am grateful and hope to see you all again next year x

I would just like to mention Judy and Bren, Barbara, and Vick - you were sooo lovely x

P.S. I forgot to take photos - oops - this is from October last year and blimey, I can hardly believe how much fuller my stall is now!

I’m back again on Saturday, it’ll be my last visit this year …

… and I can’t wait to catch up with The New Inn Walton Market regulars!

Also, I’m really looking forward to showcasing a selection of new items, some of which are pictured.

I know that for many market supporters ‘when robins appear, loved ones are near’ is an important sentiment, so I’ve had small (6”x8”) prints of my robin produced. They look lovely framed and could be the perfect gift, or a little affordable Saturday treat ❤️

A much better pun …

Rather than ‘yappy Christmas’, as originally planned, I’ve used ‘dachshund through the snow’. It was suggested by my daughter-in-law Nicole and I love it!

This little fella, complete with Santa hat embellishment, will be available wef my next craft market (Saturday 3rd Oct) … more on this to follow 😄
