Good Morning,

One of the nicest parts of sending an order out is hearing what happens when it arrives.

These pieces start here as individual shells, but they’re being made for someone’s wedding table, celebration or special gift and that’s something I never really lose sight of.

Happy Saturday!

Choosing your wedding invitations isn’t only about finding a design you like.

Before you decide, think about how much information your guests actually need.

Is the ceremony and reception at the same venue?
Do guests need accommodation or travel information?
Are you collecting RSVPs separately?
Do you have a wedding website?

Sometimes one invitation is enough. Sometimes a details card and RSVP make everything much clearer.

Start with the information, then choose the stationery that works around it.

Good morning!

There’s something about dusty blue and soft gold that works so beautifully for wedding stationery.

This Art Nouveau-inspired suite brings together delicate florals, elegant typography and those muted blue tones for something that feels romantic without being overly traditional.

And that’s one of the things I love about designing wedding stationery the same information can feel completely different depending on the colours, typography and details you choose.

A little change of scenery for the next couple of weeks 🐚

I’m taking some time away from the desk, the designs and the shells, but Ribbonaire Sands isn’t disappearing.

I’ve scheduled a mixture of wedding inspiration, useful planning ideas and some of my favourite designs to share while I’m away.

And knowing me, there may well be the odd coastal photo along the way too.

Good Morning,

Not every couple needs a complete wedding stationery suite and I’ve been thinking a lot about that while reorganising my invitation collections.

Sometimes you simply want to find the invitation that feels right first.

So I’m making it easier to shop Ribbonaire Sands wedding stationery in stages.

You can start with the invitation on its own, without having to purchase all the coordinating pieces.

If you need more, you can then choose a set with your RSVP and details card, or go further with a full coordinating suite and additional wedding stationery.

I think this gives couples much more flexibility.

A smaller or more informal wedding may only need the invitation. Another couple might need travel information, accommodation details and RSVP cards. And for a destination or weekend wedding, there can be much more information to share.

The wedding determines what stationery you need not the other way around and because the coordinating pieces share the same design, you can still create that lovely, consistent look throughout your wedding without buying things you don’t actually need.

Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing more of the different invitation collections I’ve been working on and showing how some of them grow from one invitation into a complete wedding suite.

Monday is here again!

Today is one of those Ribbonaire Sands days where there probably won’t be a finished product at the end of it, but quite a lot will have moved forward behind the scenes.

As I’m due on holiday, I’ve extended my shopping times and orders will now not be started until I’m back, so it’s admin and design days! Woo hoo!

There are also listings to update, new photographs and mockups to work on, existing designs to revisit and all the little coordinating pieces that need finishing before a wedding collection is ready to list.

I’ve actually been going back through some of my invitation designs recently and looking at how I present them too.

Rather than expecting someone to choose a complete stationery suite straight away, I’m making it much easier to start with the invitation itself and then add the RSVP, details cards and other coordinating pieces if they’re needed.

It sounds like a relatively small change, but there is quite a lot of work happening behind the scenes to get everything organised properly!

So that’s where you’ll find me today probably with far too many tabs open, moving between designs, listings and photographs.

Not the most glamorous part of running Ribbonaire Sands, but definitely one of the necessary ones and one I actually enjoy 🫣

Good Morning!

National Beach Day on August 30 celebrates all the sandy beaches across the nation. It also provides an opportunity to help keep those relaxing places clean, so we can continue to enjoy them long into the future.

With the summer we have I think most of us have spent time on beaches, at a lake or river, this summer.

Swimming, water sports, and sunbathing are just a few of the things that come to mind. Whether that floating along in the surf on a hot summer day with friends or summer memories that we have made and will remember for years to come.

Today is National Bow Tie Day, celebrated every August 28th, it is a fun and stylish event dedicated to one of fashion’s most distinctive accessories.

This day honors the bow tie’s long history, dating back to the 17th century. Over the centuries, the bow tie has become a symbol of elegance and intellect!

Thursday check-in from Ribbonaire Sands 🐚

One thing I’ve realised recently is just how varied my working weeks have become.

One day I can be surrounded by shells, paint and names ready for a wedding order, and the next I’m sitting at the computer working on a new invitation collection or adding another piece to a wedding suite.

It’s quite a change from when Ribbonaire Sands was almost entirely handmade but I’m enjoying having that mixture.

Sometimes it’s good to step away from one thing and come back to it with fresh eyes too. I often find an idea I’ve been struggling with suddenly makes much more sense after I’ve left it alone for a day or two!

So today I thought I’d ask you:

Are you someone who likes to finish one thing before starting another, or do you usually have several things on the go at once?

I think you can probably guess which camp I’m in!
