PirateClown Theatre

PirateClown Theatre Bath-based theatre company. We're purveyors of lyrical penny dreadfuls (adjusted for inflation). We aim for pared-down studio theatre.

PirateClown is a collaboration between writer Stephen Bush ('pirate') and performer Ed Browning ('clown'). We like to stage lyrical new writing with constraints applied: the casts should be compact, each member having equal narrative importance, and the show as a whole should see the barest minimum of props and scenery. To date, we have performed the following plays:

1. With Something Like Sympat

hy - 1st to 3rd March 2012 (The Rondo Theatre, Bath), and 7th to 9th February 2013* (The Alma Tavern and Theatre, Bristol).
2. The Sundown Syndrome - 20th to 21st September 2012 (The Rondo Theatre, Bath).
3. The Orchid Girl - 13th to 15th February 2014* (The Alma Tavern and Theatre, Bristol).

* Highlighted shows were staged in association with MAST Stage Productions. Furthermore, throughout our shows so far, we've had the pleasure of working with the topmost local talent - in alphabetical order:

2. Sica Denerley-Weiss (director; http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4778673/)
3. Luke John Emmett (lighting design; http://lukejohnemmett.co.uk/)
