For my May collection, I will be bringing you colour and joy. These works reflect a newfound state of mind: one of decisiveness and dedication.

I have been crippled before now with an inability to commit to a single course of action. Don’t ask me why but it is connected to an inability to realise my potential. That’s the old wine skin and the new one is firmly in place. No more double mindedness and drifting! I hope you can see that in this new May collection.

The biggest limits are the ones we impose on ourselves. Anyway, jobs for today;
1) Contemplate the next move on this commission for a very kind client in St Leonard’s-on-Sea
2) Alter the palette of this triptych for the same client, to include more green for a specific room
3) Paint the next layer on this one, which is looking super dramatic (love it)
4) Send more photos of this in a proper room mock up to my New York client

There’s a lot of change happening in my life right now, as for so many of us, and I couldn’t be more thankful to God for my art as it is such a tonic for my life. 🕊️

Have a wonderful and blessed day! 🙏🩵🙏

What I really want to say this morning is that it’s taken all my life to have the wisdom to stop asking myself what I am and learn how to find alignment and move from that base. Whatever flows, flows. Westernised questions about calling and career can sometimes be reductive. A lily does not need to ask itself what it is…the issue is to remain in the profound inner stillness which we hear all the time but the application takes practice.

In this season, the desire to create is urgent and passionate but I’m not trying to grasp it in my hand tightly and this is where I went wrong before. I still find the label ‘artist’ somewhat alien. We are thousands of things every day which we don’t categorise. Today I am a beholder of daffodils. Today I am an Encourager. Today I am simply myself. 🙏

So many thanks to the Chief Curator for curating my work to be in this week’s collection! With so many talented artists in their online gallery, it truly is an honour! This one has now sold but there are still a select few to choose from.

As many of you know, I am working alongside my art practice, teaching Psychology. I am also working on my writing so it feels like a season of creative and cognitive abundance for which I am truly grateful. ☺️ I’m on a temporary contract and no idea what the new year will bring but it says in Jeremiah that God has plans to prosper and not to harm, to give hope and a future and I know He is not a man that He should lie! 💫

Thank you Saatchi! 🙏🙏🙏🙏

A rather paradoxical effect of going back into teaching Psychology A Level full time and only having tiny pockets for creative output like painting and writing is (1) there literally isn’t time for second guessing everything and so the clarity of voice and purpose is crystallised (2) the gratitude for such endeavours is hugely increased.

There is no doubt about my calling anymore. I was born to be creative and that last year in my wonderful art studio, though not always financially prosperous was one of the richest seasons for creativity in my life. May such an opportunity arise again, I will understand it better.

I completed this landscape last night and would have been so critical of it before, finding fault etc but I was so ridiculously happy to paint I only see my joy in it! 💫

Have a wonderful Sunday guys! 🧡🩵💛🤍🩷

What a day to paint outside 🐦‍⬛ 🌳. I can see the sea through the oaks and the breeze is rustling the birch next to the balcony, not to mention hearing all the birdsong (including a black redstart). Feeling grateful ☺️ 🙏💫

In this oil painting, I first used a push and pull method of building glazes then stripping back areas to create a distressed effect. Then I wanted to make the final layer a more ethereal landscape and include some of my Hubby’s favourite sky blue so that until it finds a forever home it can live happily with us.
