I have worked very hard all my life for little pay while making my employers very wealthy. I always wanted to be my own boss and achieved this aim four years ago when I started my carpet and upholstery cleaning business. I wanted to do it properly and not be a "Cowboy" so I booked myself on an extensive training course where I learnt how to do it well and, most importantly, safely. The initial out

lay for the proper equipment was quite expensive but I didn't want to do it half-heartedly. It took a while to build the business up but my client base is now pretty good. I have had a very good summer, although cleaning all carpets in a 3 story town house in 38c degrees heat was pretty tough.
I have had a lot of repeat business and a large number of my jobs have come from recommendations which is always gratifying.
Despite my overheads going up I am aware of the cost of living crisis and, at the moment, I am not passing the costs on to my clients. My prices are staying the same as they have done for the last three years. No two jobs are exactly the same but as a guide my prices are as follows.

Stairs and landing carpet, two bedroom carpets and one lounge carpet

Total £120.

One Three seater sofa £75.

It is not straight forward to publish a price list as no two jobs are the same. But, as a guide, my prices are as follow...

It is not straight forward to publish a price list as no two jobs are the same. But, as a guide, my prices are as follows.

One lounge carpet
Two bedroooms
One stairs and landing
Total £120

With sofas I charge £25 per seat.

So a 3 seater sofa would be £75

I have a minimum charge of £50. This is because, even for small jobs, I have to load and unload my equipment and clean it afterwards.

It should be noted that carpet and upholstery cleaning is not carpet and upholstery repair.
I don't like to mislead anyone so, on inspection, if I don't think I can clean a carpet to a satisfactory standard I will tell you.

I have had a varied but very good week carpet and upholstery cleaning.
Two days at Sharnbrook Mill hotel cleaning both carpets and a lot of chairs. Some of the chairs were in the bar area but most were in the Marquee as they gear up for the summer wedding receptions.
Thursday found me at a care home in Bedford. This was for one privately owned flat but the manager has booked me in to clean the lounge area next week. I also got two requests for my card from other private owners.
In the afternoon I did an emergency clean of a carpet in Ravensden after a child had been poorly.
On Friday I was back in Bedford cleaning a sofa, chair and lounge carpet.
At the moment I have availability next week on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
