It’s with a heavy heart we have to make this announcement.
Due to lack of footfall and customers coming in store, we’ve lost vendors to other centres, meaning the company director was having to prop the limited company with his own funds.
This obviously cannot continue.
We’ve tried all sorts to advertise and get folks to come in, but they’ve not worked.
From Facebook ads to YouTube and TikTok!
Sponsoring junior football teams.
Being placed on all of the tourist information maps from Berwick to Sunderland.
Even to being on television programmes!!
None of it yielded any meaningful footfall.
The local community don’t seem interested in this type of store as most customers that do come in are from out of the area.
So unfortunately we’ve taken the decision to close the centre.
We will still be open for a short period while we wrap up loose ends and there are BARGAINS to be had, so if you’ve not been in before, come in now as stock has to go!
Obviously the shop is not as full as usual, as the remaining vendors are currently clearing their stock.
Going forward, this page will change name once the centre has closed its doors for the last time, to reflect the director continuing, using his sole trader company, but items will be viewed by appointment only and will be held in a storage container.
Please continue to support him in the future, under Godfather Antiques when that day comes.
Thank you!
Penny black team.
