Poor / As Found (but presentable) Condition: Cap will be in an airtight / waterproof bag & freeze treated before dispatch. The last photo shows all individual holes, no repeats. The fabric parts of the cap are riddled with moth holes, especially the red at the top. Though the blue / black base is barely touched. No repairs have been done & everything is original. The cap is fully intact with no structural issues, but the fabric needs extensive TLC. The gilt embroidered visor is all there but has some damage underneath, as well as a few cracks, stains, marks, loose stitching & lacquer fatigue. The embroidery is quite faded & has a few small gaps. The chin strap has some ageing but hasn't suffered anywhere as much as the rest of the cap. The buttons have minor wear & the front of the cap badge is a bit scuffed but will most likely buff out. The back is stamped J.R.Gaunt LONDON. The inner liner has a few loose stitching, frayed ends of leather / thread & stains.

Very Good Condition Grade B: Both have been tested & are in full working order with very some visible signs of use. The holsters are a little stiff due to lack of use in a while, but they'll loosen up again with usage & a filler when stored. Signs of wear do include mild marks, small scratches & slighty more worn areas, though they're still fairly clean & probably still a good bit better than others on the market. They're both in similar condition. The ones in the photos are NOT what you'll get as they're the same photos just flipped in reverse. This listing is for grade 2 left hand holsters.

Very Good Condition: Has a small chip in the far left side, other than that, there's only little nibbled chips along the edge where it's mounted. Also along the edge of the mount is some small flaws in the small frosty looking arwaom the bottom right. The re-Enforced mounts & pin can be seen through the front of the brooch due to the Agate being quite translucent, though when worn this is much less visible. Some of the silver mount at the back has light surface scratches & a handful of very small dents. There are no hallmarks, which isn't unusual for pieces like this from this era. Though I'm happy to stand of this as sterling silver. This brooch has a particularly nice pattern which I haven't come across in a long time.

Poor / Distressed Condition: Has very obvious damage to the ankle area mostly around the back two sides. Other remaining areas are in very good order with only minir age related wear & marks. The shoe is very well made & other than the ankle area, the rest of the shoe has survived very well all things considered. Though, very distressed, it still has a lot of character. Excellent Condition: Has very light surface wear, marks & some very small nibbles to the far end along the edge where the varnish has worn away. The text is all very clear & visible on both the wood & brass. The brass base has some noticeable wear where the blackened finished has had contact with surfaces due to use & age. I can't seem to find any examples of this rule but farely similar ones go for around what I'm asking & they're nowhere near as good as this one. It isn't stamped Customs & Excise (HMRC), but it came from the same place as the other Dring & Fage rule I had which was stamped. Also this company seem to have made the majority of their pieces for customs purposes. The little box is NOT included & is purely being used as a prop.
