Let’s talk about the cans!
Aw, what a fun project this was, commissioned by .ra.beer . Never have I played with reality before in making, so it was a fun process for me, creating something that was structurally accurate whilst not cutting corners on the athletics. There is about a 12% shrinkage on the clay I used, making them a little smaller than the team favourites you can (lol) get your hands on in so many pubs now.
I made them all sitting up as you’d buy them and added the crushed element afterwards, crushing a few cans to see how they reacted under the pressure in a bid to get it as accurate and true to form as possible and giving them a real after party energy. …Don’t worry, no beer was wasted in the process.
But what a fun project it was!
Being a fond lover of cans for many years now, I was pleased to make a ceramic version… ceramican, if you will.
