🎨😂 SILLY SEASON HAS ARRIVED 😂🎨

Every painter and tradesman knows this magical time of year…

The sun comes out and suddenly the questions get wilder by the day 🤣

“No offence to anyone” — not everybody knows what goes into decorating… and there’s a LOT more prep involved than people realise 👀
But honestly… some of the questions we get are undefeated 😂

🛋️ “Can you paint around the sofa?”
🎨 “How much if I buy the paint?”
🤔 “Surely it’s just a quick coat?”
⏰ “Can you start in an hour?”
📦 “Can you paint the kitchen but leave everything in the cupboards?”
🟥 “Will one coat cover that bright red wall?” 🪵 “Do you really need to sand it?”
🏠 “Can you do the whole house in a day?”
…and today’s personal favourite…

💅 “How much to strip and paint my toenails?” 🤣

For the record:

✔️ Prep is NOT optional.
✔️ Wet paint means… wet paint.
✔️ One coat miracles don’t exist.
✔️ Silly questions are always welcome 😂

Who doesn’t love a few freebies? 😄

While darting off to our local suppliers, Harry Blacks, we somehow ended up leaving with some free goodies from Axus 🎉

We got:

• Arystox 120 grit paper
• Our favourite sanding pads 🙌
• A much-needed air freshener for the van 🚐
• A t-shirt
• And a mug ☕

Now all we need is a nice cup of tea and some biscuits to go with it 🍪😂

We ran out of wallpaper mid-job and had to dart off to our local supplier Harry Black

Thankfully, they had an open roll left in the exact same batch number — and it was the last one in stock! Total lifesaver 🙌

We think the original measurement may have been worked out based on 3 drops per roll, but with certain patterns that’s not always the case. (We didnt take the original measurements)

It’s always worth double-checking your measurements and planning ahead to make sure you have enough from the same batch.
Better to have a little extra than not enough! 👍

Today is “Check In With Your Painter Day”… (no, it’s not a real thing… but it probably should be 😂)

Have you checked on your painter/decorator lately?

They might be out there… covered in paint… talking to themselves… wondering if you’ve forgotten about them 👀🎨

Don’t leave them hanging like a dodgy shelf!
Drop them a message, offer a tea, maybe even a biscuit if they’ve been good 🍪

Remember… a well-looked-after painter = a better finish on your walls 😉

"English toffee" on the walls, framing/panels, skirting and doors frames. Durable matt

"Harbour grey" on the ceiling. Vinyl matt

"Half Harbour grey" on the coving. Vinyl matt

We also covered the doors and skirting using "rocktop" clearcoat to add layer of extra protection.

Before and after 🎨

Ceiling finished using "mushroom" vinyl matt. ✅️

Wall paneling/frame, skirts and doors finished using "half mushroom" acrylic eggshell. ✅️

Finally, a floral "Panache design" wallpaper to create a beautiful theme.✅️
