I’ve had a couple of weeks out of the workshop helping a good friend who lives on Hadrians Wall with his lambing, this view looking up the North Tyne towards Wark, just out the back of the farm house, Haughton Castle in the foreground. It looks lovely but we’ve had some really raw winds.
Also some lambs enjoying the sun while inside.

These two Ash pieces show a degree of Chatoyancy, or “cat’s eye” effect in the wood, this is an optical phenomenon caused by light reflecting at varying angles off irregular, wavy, or interlocked wood grain fibers, creating a three-dimensional, shimmering, or wet look caused by stress in the cell structure on the growing tree.
