Well... this is a little outside my comfort zone! ๐Ÿ˜…

My first attempt at talking to camera, so please forgive the slightly clunky deliveryโ€ฆI don't think I was made for the screen! ๐Ÿ˜‚

That said, I am incredibly excited to be part of this special wellbeing event next week and to share a little more about why it means so much to me.

As both a GP and artist, I've experienced first-hand the power of creativity to help us slow down, reconnect, and find moments of calm in busy lives.

I'll be leading a mindful art workshop focused on simple dots and lines, where the emphasis is on the process rather than the outcome. No artistic experience neededโ€ฆjust a willingness to pause, be present, and show yourself a little self-compassion.

Alongside the art workshop, the day will include guided meditation, transformational NLP, conversations around burnout and neurodiversity, and other wellbeing practices, all delivered by healthcare professionals who are passionate about supporting health and wellbeing in meaningful ways.

Most importantly, all profits from the event will be donated to support Mogra Orphanage in Kenya. ๐Ÿ’›

Things have been busy lately (and, at times, a little overwhelming) with projects, work, and life all making their presence known. But as always, painting has brought me some much-needed joy, calm, and release.

Iโ€™ve been working on a couple of new pieces recently and have been experimenting with painting using a credit cardโ€ฆ and honestly, Iโ€™m loving it! Huge thanks to for the inspiration. So much so that there may well be a whole new credit card series coming soon ๐Ÿ‘€

Iโ€™m hoping to enter this latest piece into open call, โ€œFloraโ€, if I can get it finished in time ๐ŸŒฟ

Really looking forward to a day of sharing, chatting, and connecting tomorrow at Kings Heath Art Market at the Community Centre on Heathfield Road, 12โ€“4pm.

Please do come by and say hello ๐Ÿ’› I'd love to see you xx

I just want to say a heartfelt thank you to all the lovely people of Kings Heath who stopped by today. Whether you came for a chat, shared kind compliments, or chose to take a piece of my art home. It honestly means the world to me. Every single conversation, every smile, and every bit of support stays with me far beyond the day itself.

It was also so wonderful meeting fellow vendors and having such genuine, thoughtful conversations about art and life .slaba

A particularly special moment for me today was selling the first piece from my new abstract landscape series *La Corbiรจre 2*. To know that something so personal resonated with someone enough for them to take it homeโ€ฆ itโ€™s hard to put into words. Every piece I create holds meaning, and when someone connects with that and chooses it, it feels incredibly humbling and deeply appreciated. I truly canโ€™t wait to see it framed and living its new life in its new home ๐Ÿฅฐ

A huge thank you to for helping me set up and pack away today, with my shoulder playing up, I honestly couldnโ€™t have done it without you. You really saved me today and Iโ€™m so grateful.

And of course, thank you to and for having me... such a welcoming and inspiring space to be part of.

Iโ€™m already looking forward to being back in May and seeing some familiar (and new!) faces again.

Thank you, truly, to everyone who supports my work... it never goes unnoticed โค๏ธ

The Lake District has a special place in my heartโ€ฆ itโ€™s where my husband proposed ๐Ÿ’, so thereโ€™s something quietly personal woven into this piece.

The pictures are lovely but donโ€™t quite capture the depth, layers and movementโ€ฆthese really need to be seen up close, in real life. Iโ€™ll be bringing a collection of original pieces with me, and if one happens to resonate, it will be there to find a home.

Scroll to see the evolution...

For the past few weeks in art class with Andrea, Iโ€™ve been exploring abstract landscapesโ€ฆ and honestly, at first, it just didnโ€™t gel.

I felt a bit lost when I started. I didnโ€™t really know what I was trying to achieve. I put down layers, stripped them back, painted over them again. It felt uncomfortable, slightly out of control, like I was searching for something I couldnโ€™t quite see yet.

But somewhere in that mess of layers and uncertainty, it began to evolve.

I stopped trying to force it and let intuition take over. And thatโ€™s when it shifted. It felt freeing to let go and allow the canvas to lead.

The colours started to make sense. The depth began to build. The layers created movement in the sea, the silhouette of the land, the drama of the sky and crashing waves.

This piece was inspired by Corbiรจre in Jerseyโ€ฆwhere we spent our minimoon many moons ago (how has it been that long? ๐Ÿ˜…). I think maybe that memory was sitting somewhere in me all along.

This process has sparked something, and I have a few more pieces in this series that Iโ€™ll be sharing over the coming weeks. Iโ€™m hoping theyโ€™ll be ready in time for ๐—ž๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด๐˜€ ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ต ๐—”๐—ฟ๐˜ ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ธ๐—ฒ๐˜.

It was a gentle reminder of how grounding it can be to slow down, observe, and simply make marks without any pressure. No expectations, no need for artistic experienceโ€ฆ just a quiet space to create and unwind.

Last week, I had a ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐˜„๐—ถ๐˜๐—ต ๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ.

Iโ€™d followed Steve on Instagram a while back because something about his artistic process really spoke to me.

Recently, while scrolling, I saw that heโ€™d invited people to reach out for a chat. As an emerging artist whoโ€™s still learning their craft and feeling a bit stuck, I thoughtโ€ฆ why not?

Being an artist can be incredibly lonely. Even though he didnโ€™t know me and I didnโ€™t know him, something in me said, what have I got to lose?

What really humbled me was how much care Steve put into our meeting. Heโ€™d taken the time to look through my Instagram, reflect on my work, and offer thoughtful feedback... not just on what Iโ€™m making, but on how I come across. I walked away feeling more aware of what Iโ€™m offering, and honestly, how I see myself.

Iโ€™ve often struggled to confidently call myself an artist because I donโ€™t have formal training. But Steve saw me as an artistโ€ฆand hearing that from another artist meant more than I can say. His own background is in design, so he understands what itโ€™s like to shift paths. He encouraged me to call a spade a spade.

He gave his time, insight, and wisdom freelyโ€ฆno agenda, just connection. Iโ€™m sure heโ€™s helped many people like me who sometimes feel a bit like a duck out of water.

One realisation that came from our conversation is that I may eventually separate my art from my craft here on Instagram. Deep down, art is my true passion.

Donโ€™t worryโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll keep you updated if and when that happens, if youโ€™d like to follow along.

Iโ€™m so grateful to those whoโ€™ve stuck with me so far. And a massive thank you to Steve for the motivation, personal insight, and the reminder that

As I scroll through social media and see everyoneโ€™s January highlights, I canโ€™t help but wonderโ€ฆ is anyone else wanting to just bury their head in the sand?

While most people were goal-setting and vision-boarding (when did that become thing?), all I wanted to do was hibernate.

January has feltโ€ฆ strained. It started with a bang and then just kept coming โ€” relentless, like Iโ€™m chasing my tail without really knowing why.

Maybe itโ€™s the cold. Maybe itโ€™s the darker days. Either way, Iโ€™m over it and more than ready for spring ๐ŸŒท

Anyone else feeling this way? Grateful for the slower moments ๐Ÿ’›

On a brighter note, this spring design is pictured here, with more seasonal pieces on the way. Iโ€™ve been quietly pouring that โ€œready-for-springโ€ energy into my craft.

Iโ€™ll also be selling my artisan cards and a few other bits at my next in-person event:

โœจ WIB Pop-Up

If youโ€™re looking for something a little more thoughtful and special for spring, Eid, or Motherโ€™s Day, come and say hello. Iโ€™d love to see you.
