Would like to say a massive well down to the Boness U16 / U14 girls who won the Falkirk Cup
What a fantastic day in the sunshine yesterday for our U16 girls at the Falkirk Cup!
The girls faced a tough group featuring Rossvale, a very good Dalkeith side and a strong Tier 1 Raith Rovers team.
But our girls rose to the challenge, winning every group match to progress into the semi-finals! 👏⚽
A semi-final victory over Rossvale secured our place in the final, where Raith Rovers awaited once again.
And what a performance the girls produced! A convincing 2-0 victory saw the cup heading back to Bo’ness! 🏆💙
There were so many pleasing aspects to yesterday’s performances.
🛡️ Defensively outstanding – Our back four, made up entirely of U14 players, showed tremendous maturity, determination and ability against some excellent opposition.
🧤 Brilliant goalkeeping – Another fantastic contribution from our goalkeeper, keeping clean sheets and providing the solid foundation for the team.
💪 Midfield excellence – Midfield was the heart of the team, with several girls taking on new roles and making them their own. Bella, Rebecca B, McKenzie, Lily and Edi (Edward) were solid throughout, showing composure, energy and determination.
⚽ Goals win games – And with Rotem, Lily, Keavie and Rebecca providing the firepower throughout the tournament, the girls had the perfect balance of attacking quality and defensive strength.
But above all, this was a fantastic TEAM achievement, with every player contributing to a memorable day.
To compete against quality opposition, including Tier 1 teams, and come away unbeaten as cup winners is something the whole squad should be extremely proud of.
A massive well done to all the players and coaches, and thank you to everyone who travelled to support the girls.
The future is bright for girls’ football at Bo’ness United Community FC! 💙
