Three wise owls are preparing to fledge!!

One to Tymhorau Cymru in Machynlleth

One to Aberystwyth Bay Gallery, where I'm guest artist for the whole of July (setting up today!) 🩵

And one into my online shop, from where she may fly to you!

The owl shrines are hand built using a resilient textured clay, making them suitable for garden habitation as well indoors. They are designed to house a small pillar candle or tealight.

Another recent commission, this one created for a customer who needed a small shrine for her travelling altar.

This is the first time I've created the main body of a shrine on a pottery wheel, which is exciting.
Normally my work is slab/coil built.

It was a challenge to work at a smaller scale, to create the details, but the outcome was good 💛

I plan to experiment further with wheel-thrown forms 😉

Because joyful and magical things ARE still happening, despite our 'trauma culture's best efforts to saturate us with news of precarity and....
