How long do you reckon?

Even once the wood is cut, split and cleaned, freshly cut logs still need time to dry. That can take months, depending on the wood and drying conditions. All that preparation for logs you could burn in a single day.

At Barn Dried Logs, we use our own custom barn with underfloor heating to help drive out moisture as the logs dry.

Splitting a log does more than make it fit the fire.

It exposes more of the wood, helping moisture escape as it dries. The cut, the split and the time in the barn all play a part in making the finished firewood.

Kindling gives the flame smaller pieces to catch first, helping build the heat needed for the bigger logs. That's why the little bits matter.

Our logs have underfloor heating. Some of us are still wearing two pairs of socks.

We built a custom heated barn in Algakirk to help drive moisture out of the wood as it dries. Drier firewood means less heat spent getting rid of water when you light it.

Quite a lot happens before those logs reach your basket. The heated floor is probably the bit you weren't expecting.
